September 19-22 @ 1 p.m.
Free to the public located in front of the Grandstand
The first standardbred races were contested along roads between men challenging friends to a race. The sport flourished until World War I. The races at the fair are strictly exhibition and are not pari-mutual betting. The Great Frederick Fair is one of only two fairs offering harness racing in Maryland. The fairgrounds are designated as a year-round official training facility.
